The trend of questions on Indian National Movement (INM) in terms of total 100 questions has varied from 3% to 11% with an average of 7%. The questions are primarily related to India's freedom struggle. The period covered is from first war of Independence in 1857 to India's independence on 15th August 1947. The questions are on various movements, revolts, resolutions, Acts enacted by British Government, commissions, missions which visited India, Governor Generals and viceroys and important events during their tenure, Political parties and various school of thoughts that developed during the course of India's struggle for freedom. Here it should also be noted that many questions have been asked which are related to important personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindra Nath Tagor, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose and activities of his INA (Recently a commission has enquired the mysterious death of Netaji Sbhash Chandra Bose) etc. It is a good idea to go through the lives of these great men as it broadens the knowledge of Indian National Movement. In sum total this section covers the social and political history from 1857 to 1947.
